Kristin Tiernan brings 20 years of experience designing interiors & space planning for residential and corporate clients in Marin County, Sonoma County and the San Francisco Bay Area. Kristin studied at the critically acclaimed College of Architecture & Environmental Design at Arizona State University where she was on the Dean’s List and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Interior design has always been a family affair for Kristin. Her mother has been an interior designer for more than 30 years and is the owner of MWS Design in Petaluma, California. Kristin drew her first floor plan at the ripe old age of five. From that moment on, she knew what she wanted to do.
Believing that our environments shape our attitudes and behavior, Kristin became an interior designer in order to positively affect the spaces in which we live, work, and play. She started Fog Studio to be able to focus on our most intimate of spaces – our homes. Before starting Fog Studio, Kristin worked at Rapt Studio (formerly Pollack Architecture) where she designed corporate interiors for companies such as Sony PlayStation, Apple, Jamba Juice, Twitch, and Birkenstock USA that represent each company’s culture and brand. Prior to that she worked at Chong Partners Architecture where her talents helped to create healing environments for hospitals and medical office buildings for several of Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health’s campuses.
Kristin holds the following industry recognized certifications: California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) and National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). In addition to these certifications, she is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and has served on the board of the Northern California Chapter.
